Does technology contribute to some of the social and equity issues facing teachers and schools today? What are these issues?

I do believe that technology does contribute to some of the social and equity issues today. It is very import for teacher to provide equal access to computers for all students. The students that are not financial able to have a computer get less computer time. Also there is a very large concern about students being able to get to inappropriate sites. Schools take many precautions to prevent this type of thing from happening.

How will you schedule computer usage time for your students if the school has only one computer lab availiable.

I would have a computer time schedule set up for the entire class. I would have a block of time set for each student to be able to have some time in the computer lab. If my rule was that the students would only be able to visit the computer lab when they complete their work, some students would never be able to visit the lab. By making a set schedule every student will be able to spend some time in the computer lab.

Well.....the end is approaching! Since it is almost over, it is now time to cram and get stuff finished. I have almost everything finished. I still have all of my math left to work on. Math is my least favorite subject of all, and I don't know why I saved it till the end. But I will get it done. So good luck to everyone! Keep on pushing and working and it will be over very soon!

Work Overload!!!

UGH!!! It is now mid-term time and I am feeling the pressure. I have so many assignments due and coming due that I am beginning to wonder if I will be able to accomplish them all. I know that I am not alone in feeling this way. My classmates are feeling overloaded as well. But I know that with a lot of hard work, sleepless nights and persistence we will ALL get the things accomplished that we need to get accomplished! So come on fellow students.......let's dig in and get over the hump! Once we are getting fitted for our cap and gown, we will forget all about this Intro block pressure! Oh the power of positive thinking!

Lesson for Michaelmas

St. Michael is known as the angel of a good death. Michaelmas day happens near the Equinox and is associated with the beginning of autumn and the shorting of days. An interesting fact about this holiday is the flower is the purple daisy. Also, you don’t eat blackberries after St. Michael’s day, because legend says on this day Satan fell into a blackberry bush and cursed the thorns. So the berries are no good after this day. Thanksgiving marks the end of the harvest season and St. Michael's day marks the beginning of the fall harvest.

Let’s make blackberry ice cream and top it with fresh Blackberries!

Ingredients
• 250ml whipping cream
• 6 egg yolks (freeze the egg whites for next time you make meringues)
• 150g golden caster sugar
• 1 x 284ml carton buttermilk
• 2 punnets blackberries

1. Heat the cream to just below simmering and whisk the egg yolks with 100g of the sugar. Whisk in the cream and pour the mix into a clean pan. Stir over a low heat until the mixture thickens. Don't let it get too hot or the eggs will scramble. Sieve into a bowl and cool. Stir in the buttermilk.
2. Heat the blackberries with the remaining sugar until the juice starts to run out. Whizz in blender and sieve. Stir into the cream mixture and churn or freeze until thick.
Per serving: 361 calories, protein 6.4g, carbohydrate 32.3g, fat 23.8 g, saturated fat 12.3g, fiber 1.5g, salt 0.13 g

Love Those Concept Maps!

We have been learning how to use concept maps in IT 365. I have to say that I am enjoying learning to use these maps. In fact, I just made one to help me plan out my web site. I think that these maps are a wonderful planning tool. I am so glad that we are learning how to use them. I may even have to buy the Inspiration progam that we are using in class. Stay tuned because soon I will be posting an awesome web site!

My First IT-365 Blog

Wow!
I did it! I made a blog and best of all it is free! And anyone who knows me knows that "free" is my favorite "number"! I am so excited to explore all of the free resources that Dr. Juneau has in store for us!

This being my first day at USM has had me very anxious! But I am here today and I am ready!
I am looking forward to visiting the rest of my classes and getting to work!
